Why I Started With Natural Deodorant
When I began my journey into creating natural self-care products, the very first formula I worked on was natural deodorant. Some people found that surprising—why not a face oil or a balm? But for me, the answer was simple: deodorant is something we use every single day, directly on one of the most delicate parts of the body. I realized that if there was one product I should make safer, it had to be this one.
Traditional Deodorants
Like many of us, I grew up using regular store-bought deodorants without thinking twice. They promised "all-day protection" and "extra strength," but what I didn't realize back then was what was inside them.
Most traditional deodorants and antiperspirants:
- Rely on aluminum salts to block sweat, stopping our bodies from doing something completely natural—detoxifying.
- Contain parabens and triclosan, chemicals linked to hormone imbalance and other health concerns.
- Use synthetic fragrances, which can hide hundreds of undisclosed chemicals that irritate the skin.
The more I learned, the more uneasy I felt. I didn't want to cover up my body's natural processes with chemicals—I wanted to support them.
A Natural Answer
So I turned back to nature. I started researching ingredients that not only neutralize odor safely but also nourish the skin. My final blend came together with:
- Shea Butter – a rich, soothing butter that cares for delicate underarm skin.
- Coconut Oil – naturally antibacterial, fighting the bacteria that actually cause odor.
- Baking Soda – a gentle but powerful way to neutralize odors without blocking sweat.
- Essential Oils – adding freshness and therapeutic benefits, from calming lavender to energizing citrus.
For the first time, I had a deodorant that let my body breathe, sweat naturally, and still feel fresh—all without fear of hidden chemicals.
More Than Just Freshness
Switching to natural deodorant was more than a cosmetic choice for me—it was about honoring my body. Each time I apply it, I know I'm choosing ingredients that work in harmony with my health, not against it.
That's why deodorant became my first product: it represents what I believe in. Small daily choices can have a big impact on our well-being. And when we choose clean, turning ingredients, we're just protecting our skin, we're not just protecting our skin—we're prizing our future.
